After you leave the freeway and turn left at the light you will see a road that goes over the freeway on a "ramp" called the Sunkissed Parkway which goes over the river on a toll bridge, you do need to take the toll or watch out for toll collectors.

The best day of Mardi Gras for us was when Aimee’s boyfriend’s grandmother came to the parade wearing a red “F*K You” hat with a huge drawing of the devil on it. Everyone thought it was a Mardi Gras joke until we got a picture of it. She told us her grandmother was making the hat herself as she was pissed off at her boyfriend for cheating on her. It was hilarious and we all laughed so hard we cried.
So Mardi Gras in New Orleans really is different than the rest of the world, lol. Aimee and I just had a great time and look forward to the next 4 festivals. Aimee and I have been to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for several years now and we love it. The other festivals we have been too are the Cajun and Zydeco Festival which is coming up in June, the International Festival coming up in July, and Mardi Gras.
