Top campgrounds in El Monte - user choice

If you are staying on the west side of Folsom Lake you may have issues with traffic.

You may have to take the Folsom Lake bus to San Jose or San Mateo from LAX, take the bus home and take one for L.A if you are going to Santa Monica and you can take that bus directly from the station to the campsite so it is very convenient. If you are staying on the east side of Folsom Lake, if you will be out camping from 5-6PM you should not camp until 1AM.

You will have to have a very nice time on the lake because it is extremely sunny and you can't really camp in that condition. There is plenty of room on the side of the lake to camp and some tents are up on the top so people can sit.

If it rains the lake is quite nice. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area and you can always have a meal in one of them and get to the campsite faster.

There are several nice hotels in the area for less than $250/night. There are a few hotels in town that are more expensive but don't get scared by the prices.

If you're looking for hotel reservations for El Monte Beach and other parts of the area contact them . The closest hotel is the Sheraton Santa Rosa at 639.0 in Santa Claritas.

If you are staying here, be sure to bring your laptop and a credit card for the nights stay. If you're coming in on a weekend or even for the weekend you should be ready for all the traffic and the crowds.

Great location, close to beach, good pool and hot tub.
