I would say to do what the locals do and spend most of your time inside. This is a great place to find camping supplies from all over the world like tents for $30 which is quite a steal. But a must see is the open air museum in Saskatoon ,with lots of well preserved vehicles from the past. I have a friend who owns a huge house in Saskatoonand if you are a fan of old Hollywood, it’s like stepping back in time.
This is one of my favorite places in the world. There are so many beautiful beaches and the Yucatan has some of the most fascinating history. I would recommend staying in a resort on the beach or in a small town.
The campground is not huge but it has lots of shade and is well laid out and a great location to have camping. If you want to try something new and you do want to stay indoors you should plan to spend a lot of time on the lake with a good sized lake to enjoy the day with as well as enjoying the lake and lake waters.
It is a great way to spend some time and if your looking for camp sites or have the time the lake is the next place you should look at.
If you decide to stay at Lake Louise the campsites there are usually very clean and well laid out. I found a great area about 1.5 hours away which had 2 campsites with lots of shade to have a bit of solitude and a few places for a fire. They are pretty close to the lake and a great place to have lunch while camping.
If you don't feel like going to the Lake Louise it is a good choice to go to Saskatoon so you can get to town quickly to catch the Blue Jays or the Saskatoon Chiefs game.
There are also many places that will give you discounts on campsites and this includes the Lakeside Campground . It is also near a lot of grocery stores and many of them are very friendly and helpful. They will give you a great deal on camping supplies, food and water.
It was a nice campground for one night but if you are going to camp for extended periods it is a good idea to go to another campsite nearby.
There are plenty of sites to choose from but if you want to save some money you can also go to the Lake Louise Visitor Center to book your stay and check on the availability of campsites or you can go to the Saskatoon Parks and Recreation Office.
I have to say I’m very excited about this and I can’t wait to see it all come to fruition. I’ve been wanting to visit this part of the world for a while now and it’s great to see that this place is finally getting some attention.
