It is good idea to have blanket to cover your head and neck when walking through the park with your dogs. If in town you are better off sleeping in your house or in your car, but if you are in York UK, then a campsite can be rented for a night. For most of us we need a tent with a sleeping pad on it, but if you decide to rent a site then there are plenty of tents and bunks that are suitable for both of these.
Take note of the weather and be prepared for the worst. This is an interesting subject for us here at the blog. While our tent is insulated to withstand the elements we do not take this into account. When I was living in South Korea and had to take off my tent every day in order to have an extra tent in my car, it made a tremendous difference in our camp survival.
A typical winter day would consist of me standing in the middle of a snow field in a rainforest, with a dog waiting for me in my pack. When I would hear the dog bark or the wind howling at me, I simply would walk away and I was fine. In North Korea my tent would be ripped, there would be lots of water dripping onto my feet every day, the wind could rip my tent open, I would lose everything that I had put in it and the dog would be crying. In the middle of winter, in the snow with no shelter, with no blankets to put up with the heat, a tent with a sleeping pad is a necessity.
When you are out of your tent take note of where everyone is. If you are in camp and you see one of your friends or family, you must go there and find out who it is. If you are at home or at the office then don't do what I did and go meet your friend. The other person would probably think that it is some kind of joke.
