If you do not have a vehicle, take advantage of the good parking at the local gas stations for the best prices. The best place if you just want a quick hike and are not into the whole bush camping thing is The Lake Campground, just get there and park there, then you can drive a car there as long as you stay at a parking structure. There is a nice park near the campground that will also give you a good view of the forest.
I have also heard that there is also a park on the way home.
If you are in the Grove Campground take advantage of the camping facilities to help you prepare. You may be able to park at the campsite at the back or some of this site. You may also have a good parking structure at the trailhead if you park in the Grove Campground parking area.
For example the Lake Campground has a parking structure there as well. It is possible for you to get a better view if you look into a small hole in the ground at the end of the road and turn to see if the trees are down. This is also a good place to get a great view of your camp if you are just a few miles away (as long as it is just you and your dog).
You can also find a great viewing spot to view the woods and get a better vantage point if you are near a creek or creek bed, both of which are located near The Lake Campground. The area at the Lake campground also offers good views of the surrounding mountains, just a few miles away.
If you are outside of Nancy and are looking for some camping, I recommend taking a hike into the area near The Lake Campground, you will need to be in the area to make it worthwhile.
We came to Russell Springs KOA campsite near the waterfall and it was the beginning of our stay in Nancy. I would never expect that this outdoor holiday urnity is only 10 mins away from the capital city and we still didn't get tired of it.
Not only is that is a beautiful place to stay but we would visit again if we are in the area soon. :) Submitted: May 18, 2018 Stayed: May 2018 Source: HomeAway Owner's Response: Thank you so much for recommending us.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and the campground. We appreciate your kind review. We look forward to having you back as our guests. Thank you again.
A Great Campground with a Great Location Stayed 07/16/2018 We have not been on the camping scene in years (been vacationing on the East Coast and Florida for several years), but decided to visit West Virginia and camp in the beautiful Russell Springs location Not only do we love camping, but we are also avid canoeing and kayaking.
We were looking for a peaceful location to do a little of both, and Nancy was perfect. My 8 year old Grandson and I camped outside on the screened porch enjoying the views and fresh air while drinking our beverages from the cooler we had provided.
We all enjoyed our meal, then Nancy showed us to our bed, a very special and comfortable queen sized bed complete with linens and a memory foam mattress. The bed was in an addition behind Nancy's cottage, and we had an electric heater to help us keep warm. The outside was not only warm, but the view was breathtaking, and the feeling of being "away from it all" was very special to me.
This is a great stay for the whole family or for couples needing to rejuvenate themselves. - Judy S. We loved our time here!! Nancy was a phenomenal host! A delightful experience!
Nancy, thank you so much for sharing your fabulous, clean vacation cottage with us! We wanted to stay at yours with its breathtaking views while visiting family up in Big Bear, so we booked your home online.
We will never forget our time at your place, it was very special! You did so much planning and preparation and the cottage itself is breathtaking! The view from the deck was absolutely beautiful and watching ducks and egrets swimming in the pond was a true highlight. Our hosts were very professional and were so accommodating.

As I reminisce about our camping trip to Grove Campground a few years ago, my heart fills with warmth and gratitude. It was a time when my now-husband and I were still in the blissful phase of our relationship, and we chose this scenic location as our escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. One night, as we snuggled up in our tent, the sky suddenly turned dark and ominous. The wind picked up, rustling through the trees like a thousand whispers. I could hear my heart pounding in my chest as the first drops of rain began to fall. We huddled closer together, listening intently to the sounds around us. Suddenly, it started. A fierce and unrelenting storm battered our tiny home. The wind howled like a pack of wolves, while lightning lit up the sky in vivid strokes. We clung onto each other, terrified but also strangely exhilarated by the raw power of nature. In the end, we emerged from that night with a deeper appreciation for life and love. It was an experience that brought us closer together, and one that we would never forget. As for Grove Campground itself, I must say that it's a true gem hidden amidst the lush greenery of the Pacific Northwest. The campground offers ample space for tents and RVs alike, with each site equipped with a fire pit and picnic table. There are also clean bathrooms and showers nearby, making the entire experience a comfortable one. Here's my tip: be sure to bring plenty of layers, as the weather in this region can change rapidly. And if you're lucky enough to encounter a storm like ours, embrace it with open arms - it might just be an unforgettable adventure!
Today's news is quite fascinating too. The Devil Comet, 12P/Pons-Brooks, has been putting on quite the show lately as it grows horns and glows green near the Andromeda galaxy. Astronomers are keeping a close eye on this celestial body as it orbits through space, eager to see what unexpected surprises it might reveal. It's a reminder that even in the vastness of the universe, there is always something new and awe-inspiring waiting to be discovered. In short, I wholeheartedly recommend Grove Campground for anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating escape from reality.

I was thrilled to discover Holmes Bend campground nestled in the heart of Nancy's scenic countryside. Despite not being a resident of this charming city, I have been fortunate enough to explore many of its hidden gems over the years, and Holmes Bend has quickly become one of my favorite escapes from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located just a stone's throw away from the bustling streets of Nancy, Holmes Bend offers a peaceful respite from the city's hectic pace. Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the countryside, this idyllic campground boasts breathtaking views of rolling hills and verdant meadows, lending itself perfectly to those seeking a serene escape. Upon arriving at Holmes Bend, I was immediately struck by its warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing me with all the necessary information about the campground's amenities and activities, as well as tips on nearby attractions that I might want to explore during my stay. One of the things that truly sets Holmes Bend apart from other camping destinations is its emphasis on community and togetherness. From group BBQs and campfire sing-alongs to communal picnic areas and organized hiking excursions, there are plenty of opportunities for visitors to connect with one another and immerse themselves in the spirit of camaraderie that pervades this charming corner of Nancy. Another factor that has contributed significantly to my enjoyment of Holmes Bend is its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The campground takes great care to minimize its ecological footprint, with initiatives such as recycling programs, composting schemes, and energy-efficient lighting in place to promote a more sustainable way of living. Throughout my stay at Holmes Bend, I was struck by the sheer beauty and tranquility of the surrounding landscape, which provided me with ample opportunities for hiking, fishing, and nature walks. The campground also boasts a well-stocked general store, offering visitors all the essentials they might need during their stay, as well as a range of delicious snacks and treats to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. In light of today's news and the ongoing honeytrap mystery in Westminster, I am struck by how far removed Holmes Bend feels from the cut-and-thrust of politics and power struggles. Here, amidst the rolling hills and verdant meadows of Nancy's countryside, it is possible to escape the noise and chaos of everyday life and connect with nature, community, and a deeper sense of purpose. In conclusion, my experience at Holmes Bend has been nothing short of transformative, providing me with a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of city life and an opportunity to reconnect with the natural world and the spirit of camaraderie that pervades this charming corner of Nancy. Whether you are a seasoned camper or a first-time explorer, Holmes Bend is the perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful escape from the pressures and stresses of everyday life.
