Parker has 3 main campgrounds with 3 campsites, but you have two very different campsites on the park. One of them is at the old campground on the north side of Cherry Creek State Park.
This camping area was originally part of the Arapahoe National Forest which also had its own site that was called the Arapahoe State Forest site. After the fire burned down this new park site was sold for $1.8m and is now a park. It is on Cherry Creek in a small area where you can easily find camping on a picnic pad.
This camping area was the first in the area to be designated as a National Forest site so visitors are still encouraged to visit there before they take the road to the National Forest.
The other site at the park is called Rockpool Campground. Rockpool Campground is located in the south side of Colorado Springs and has a lot of space for those who want to explore the area with the campfire. Both sites are nice for picnics.
Parker park does not offer picnic shelters but there are a few small shelters out in the park. They can be found at the entrance to the park with signs telling you if you would like to park there. You can also take the park visitor parking lot to the other side of the campground.
